February picks
February is here, I'll try to read more books than last month, let's see how that goes.
6 reading challenges: Paranormal, Ireland, Nicholas Sparks, Mystery/Crime, Ebook, Where are you reading?
1 Read-A-Long @ Bookish and Bookish Comforts
1 Book Club: Read by Theme
This is what I've planned so far:
Read by Theme & Paranormal Character
Just like last month, without realizing it I picked a book that fits both.
Read by Theme: Earliest addition to our TBR shelf
Paranormal Character: Angels / Nephilim
Fallen by Lauren Kate
Ireland Book
This month I chose a title with the word "Irish". The author was born in New York but his parents came from Ireland.
Black Irish by Stephan Talty
Nicholas Sparks
Continuing with the books I had read first, alphabetically.
The Last Song
Mystery/Crime
It looks like Black Irish is also a mystery but I had already chosen another one.
Tide Ever Rising by Mandi Tucker Slack
Read-A-Long
I'll be reading this book throughout the month, divided by chapters each week.
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Others
I'm reading Interred, so far is awesome! I'm barely on chapter 5, I'm hoping to read more after this.
Interred by Marilyn Almodovar
Jesse James and the Dragon's Egg by Edward Woodward III
The Grimm Chronicles Vol. 1 by Isabella Fontaine
The Cypher by Julian Rosado-Machain
Terra by Gretchen Powell
Feel free to recommend books of any kind. I'm trying to add the number of books for the Ireland Challenge and I haven't found that many.
It looks like "An ugly cover" is winning for next month's theme and I don't know what I would pick. I don't like judging, (I do judge books by their cover but not because they're ugly, sometimes the cover doesn't work for me or it's just not very attractive, I really don't know what makes me like a cover. Few covers work for me, that's why I hadn't read many books, that's how I picked them before and by their title.) what I mean is I don't know how I could call a cover ugly, I'd feel bad, it's not like I could do a better one.
Have you ever thought "that's an ugly cover"? Bad cover recommendations are welcomed.
"I was going to suggest Under the never sky, it's been in my TBR shelf for two months but I see you already read it. So I'm here to ask you a favor, if the book that wins happens to be the second book in a series or third or whatever, can you please let us know in advance so those of us that haven't read the first ones can do it before we start. Thanks! I'll think of other books to suggest"
ReplyDeleteBrooke is actually the one who has read that, I have not. So I'd be open to reading that one! And I actually wasn't going to do any sequels exactly for that reason. I know a lot of people are growing restless so I am going to post the poll to pick the read tomorrow. I'll give you the link once it is up.
Looks like a fun Goodreads group. I'm a bit confused though ..you have several categories in this post ..is that how the reading group works or one goes by the winner of the poll for that month? There's a lot of threads so I'm not sure where to find what theme(s) to go by. Anyway, I've only read one Irish book (that I remember) .. Hush
