25 Books!

I'm excited because it's only April and I'm already halfway through my reading goal! I chose a goal of 50 books for 2013. This is the first year I read that many books. I loved to read, still do, but I just didn't know how to find more. The most I had read, was 20 books last year. I'm not a fast reader so I had to go with 50 this year. Though, now that I think about it, I should have gone with minimum 4 books per month (challenges), 12 months gives us 48, oh, maybe I did count, I don't remember. But now add YABBC, that takes me up to 60. I think, I'll be able to reach my goal in no time and next year I'll add more books, depending on how many I finish this year.

I've read some amazing books, I still haven't found one I didn't like this year. Of all the books I've read in my life, I've only left 2 unfinished: Pride and Prejudice, I don't know why since I loved the movie; and The Third Twin, I also loved the movie and the book sounds like it's going to be awesome. That's why I added it for this month and hopefully I'll be able to finish it this time. I started reading The Lightning Thief with my little cousins and even though we never finished it, it wasn't because I just didn't want to keep reading, but we just didn't have the time and now we hardly see each other.

In four months I've read different kinds for the different challenges, read a longs and book clubs. I've also read books I've otherwise wouldn't have if it weren't for the authors who offered their books for reviews. The best month so far is February with 10 books read.

I am finding I'm not as picky as I thought I was. I love reading about new characters in awesome places and diverse stories. There is always something new to learn from each. My favorite thing to read about now is YA paranormal dystopian worlds.

There are many more books I want to read, I have started many series that I still haven't finished. Of course the one I'm most excited about this year is Allegiant, book 3 and final book in the Divergent series! I'm also looking forward to Fissure and Alternate in the Chronicles of the Interred series, Unravel Me, Unbreakable, Clockwork Angel, The Games. I'm also thinking about reading the Lux series, I first thought about reading all three for the paranormal challenge but then I decided to read one per month and it's just in time for August, the release of the fourth book, Origin.
I'm excited for all the new books to read and authors to meet. Because I've also found great books through Blog Tours and other bloggers' reviews.

    1. Thanks! Yeah, I think it'd be way over 50, at least I hope. I'm glad I'm not the only one, I thought it was a classic and everyone loved it so I felt weird, but now that I know you couldn't either, I shouldn't feel so bad, now I can say that I don't plan on giving it another chance lol

    1. Thanks! It's mostly because I'm barely starting to be a constant reader

  5. I remember when we first started chatting that you hadn't read many paranormal books. One of my favorite things about you is that you like so many different books in general. That is a great list! I LOVE that you are expanding in to the magical word that I enjoy so much so we can discuss more books, but I also really like that you read quite a few that I haven't heard of yet as well :D Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.

    1. I am loving the paranormal genre! You'd think because I love Roswell so much I would have started reading more paranormal books but I just didn't think much about them. And it's nice to read different kinds and change things every once in a while.

  6. You are so lucky that you have not read a single book you haven't disliked a single book. I had that last year most of the year then I found a couple of books I didn't care for in December or they were just okay. So far this year I have read 26 books and I have hated two of them. They were Redemption by Karen Kingsbury and Splintered by A.G. Howard. I hope I like the rest of the books I read for this year.

  7. So many books! I set a pretty low number on my book challenge just because I had no idea if I'd have time to read much with it being my last semester in undergrad. I've since raised my goal a couple more times. Once summer starts, I'll probably have to raise it again. But hey, I'm not complaining. For someone who claims they aren't a fast reader, you sure are reading a lot! I'm so excited for Allegiant! I also STILL need to start Shatter Me. Without starting my blog, I would have never been exposed to all the books I've been reading. So many books, so little time! If you keep up at the pace you're at, you'll reach your year goal in no time!

    1. But I've seen blogger saying they're at their 40, 50, 70 book right now. Well, that was last week, so I'm sure they've read about 10 more by now. I don't know how they read so many in a week lol. I know, without the blog I wouldn't have read so many in four months. It is amazing
